CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2024!

December marks the end of the school year in Guatemala, when we celebrate the Class of 2024 and take a holiday for Christmas and New Year. At our year-end gathering earlier this month, your support allowed us to celebrate all that our students and their families accomplished this year, with games, music and dancing.

We graduated 4 children who will move on to primary school next year while the remaining 13 children will return after the holiday break to start a new year at the Center. We are proud of all they’ve done this year and we are grateful for your support to make it happen! We had special celebrations for our graduates:

🧸 Luna, who started at the Center when she was just 2, especially loved to help the younger children and play mother in the playroom

🥣 Aliz, an only child who always wanted to be the center of attention, learned to enjoy sharing and play chef for her classmates

📝 Jiménez, who was being cared for by an elderly grandmother especially loved playing with peers and completing schoolwork

❤️ Ian, who struggled with poor respiratory health received excellent nutrition, medical attention and healthy environment at the Center which helped build his immune system

Your support also allowed us to provide traditional canastas navideñas (Christmas gift baskets) for each family. This tradition ensures that our families have the basic food supplies that they might need to be able to celebrate Christmas together. Thank you!

EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS

Every donation helps ensure that we can continue transforming the lives of families facing extreme poverty.

When you make your donation recurring, you’ll join our Helping Hands Sustainer Circle, a community of extraordinary humans working together to provide monthly support for the children and families at the Acorn Childcare Center. As a member, your monthly commitment provides a reliable and sustainable source of funds we can use to plan programs, create budgets and expand services. For example, your monthly commitment of $25 could provide the children with safe drinking water each month while $50 could provide books and art supplies for the month.

Maya Childcare Inc is run entirely by volunteers, thus 100% of your donation goes directly to the Acorn Childcare Center.
